For over two years, a couple from Britain collected the £ 10.000 they needed for their dream wedding in Cyprus, while everything was ready to welcome the 25 guests.
They are Craig Williams and Kirsty Ward, who were getting married in Cyprus on October 23 and had booked their tickets by Thomas Cook.
The couple chose a hotel in Chloraka, Paphos and a specific wedding package. According to Metro, they made preparations and prepaid the package, which cost £ 5.500, but in total they had spent £ 10.000 on all expenses.
But when they heard the news of Thomas Cook's collapse, they had only three weeks to find a way to come to Cyprus. They then tried to get reimbursement for travel tickets and hotels, but knew they had lost the rest of the money they paid for the other expenses.
Their story seems to have caused a stir, as the White Hart Hotel in North Yorkshire offered them a πα 3.000 wedding package as a gift. Other businesses also provided τους 7.000 worth of food, hair and makeup and decoration for free.
The bride reported in the same medium that "at one time we were measuring the cost of losing our marriage and now we are in the middle of organizing a bigger and better wedding".
