The impasse that arose in the process of selecting the "parliament president" continues in the occupied territories. The National Unity Party (KAE) has not yet managed to determine its candidate for the position.
According to the Turkish Cypriot electronic media, the "parliament" meeting scheduled for today and the related "voting" has been postponed and will take place on Monday.
In his statements, the current "president" of the "parliament", Zorlou Torre, said that "the candidates have not yet been appointed, the work continues. The plenary session will be convened on Monday morning," he added.
Discussions and negotiations between the members of the KEE are expected to continue intensively in the coming days, with the aim of choosing a candidate who will gather the necessary support to assume the "presidency" of the "parliament".
It is recalled that in the previous days, the "parliament", in repeated "votes", had not managed to highlight his new "presidency". After this development, the Renaissance Party (KA), which participates in the "government" of the KEE-Democratic Party (DK)-KA coalition, announced that it will discuss leaving the "government" if there is no positive result in the new attempt to emerge "president" of the "parliament".
