A mother reports abuse of her 13-month-old son at a Limassol daycare center.
As he reported on the show Mesimeri kai Kati, on February 21, the teacher informed him that the child had fallen from his bed and had a concussion on the back of his head. However, when he rushed to school, the picture was very different. He had abrasions on his face that were not due to a fall.
"We went to a private hospital in Limassol and they kept us for treatment because the baby was not behaving normally. My husband went to the police to file a complaint and the police officer said that he probably fell. He went to the school, spoke to the owner and informed us that the child probably fell," she noted.
She then went to the Welfare Office and was told that she would have to go to the Police to give a statement in order to pursue criminal charges. "I told them that I wanted to be examined by a forensic pathologist and they told me that he only examines deceased and sexually abused people and they refused to take a statement from me," she stressed.
After intervention by the Welfare Office, they agreed to take a statement from her at the Agios Ioannis police station. "She was not examined by a forensic doctor. Someone is not doing their job properly," he stressed.
