Metropolitan Isaias of Tamasos and Orini and monk Varnavas, who are accused of a possible violation of personal data, responded on Thursday by denying the charges they face, due to the release of video from the cameras that had been installed at the Holy Monastery of Saint Avvakum, in Fterikoudi.
The case was rescheduled for May 12, 2026, when the substantive proceedings will begin.
The hearing is scheduled for 10:00, with the Prosecution having already summoned three witnesses, who are the investigators of the case.
It is recalled that the case arose after investigations by the former Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Irini Loizidou Nikalaidou, due to the leak of videos from areas of the Monastery that should not have been recorded.
