We draw the attention of all citizens to fraud attempts recorded in recent days, through telephone calls from individuals falsely posing as Social Security employees.
The scammers claim to be refunding pension funds and request confirmation of bank details, leading victims to a link they send them.
In at least one case, a citizen was convinced and, following the perpetrators' instructions, they managed to remove a sum of money of 16.000 euros from him.
Several attempts have also been recorded that were not completed, thanks to the timely reaction of citizens.
Tips for your protection:
NEVER provide bank account information, passwords or other personal data over the phone, even if the caller presents himself as a government or other service employee.
Social Insurance will never request confirmation or update of bank details via phone or message.
DO NOT select or follow links sent to you from unknown or suspicious sources.
If you receive such a call, record the number, end the call and immediately notify the authorities.
Inform relatives and friends, especially elderly people, so that they are informed and do not fall victim to such scams.
Everyone's vigilance is the most effective measure to prevent and address these phenomena.
