The Cybercrime Sub-Directorate of Headquarters informs citizens that, in recent days, it has received a number of complaints regarding misleading text messages (SMS), which falsely appear to come from a supermarket.
Specifically, the recipient of the message is invited to follow a specific electronic link in order to redeem points that are supposedly about to expire.
The purpose of the scams is to deceive the public and, in particular, to extract banking data and sums of money.
The public is urged to be particularly careful and not respond if they receive such a message.
