Problems faced by pensioners in services from banks and insurance companies remain unsolved, the PASYDY Pensioners Branch says in a statement, on the occasion of the World Day for the Elderly, noting that these are the two most serious problems of discrimination against the elderly.

In particular, it states that pensioners are subject to "onerous premiums" for cars from insurance companies and face the "refusal of banks to provide any credit facilities to pensioners".

"These issues have been raised before the competent Ministers and the President of the Republic himself, but also before the Parliament. At the same time, they are being promoted at the European level through the European organizations in which our Branch is a member", states the announcement of the Pensioners Branch of PASYDY, which assures that the efforts will continue and intensify.

The announcement concludes by welcoming "the strong support of the President and the members of the Parliamentary Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance Committee for these and other just demands of the pensioners and the elderly".
