The Cyprus Government Doctors' Union, which is speaking of "unacceptable working conditions" due to construction work at the Limassol General Hospital, is taking action as of today. From today, Wednesday, according to the union, doctors of the specialties involved will stop providing services at the outpatient level.
This was stated in yesterday's announcement by PASYKI, which last week had raised the issue created by the construction work, which, as it noted, "is literally being carried out over the heads of doctors and patients, causing concern and discomfort."
In a previous announcement, PASYKI noted that the noise and pollution from the work negatively affects the environment of the public hospital and doctors face difficulties in concentrating and providing the required care to patients, who in turn, "suffer from the noise and disruption."
At the same time, the union spoke of "the inability of the OKYpY to act proactively and manage the issues that arise" and of "lack of planning and inability to take into account the needs and safety of the hospital's employees and patients."
