More than 2600 traffic violations were detected and reported during traffic checks carried out by members of the Police, all over Cyprus, from 02/12/2024 to 08/12/2024.
The members of the Police, in the context of traffic checks they carried out throughout Cyprus, proceeded to 777 complaints regarding exceeding the speed limit, 201 complaints for failure to use a seat belt by drivers and passengers, 9 complaints for not using a protective helmet and 202 complaints for using a mobile phone while driving.
There were also 51 complaints of drink driving, 51 complaints of illegal parking and 49 of parking in disabled spaces and 1290 complaints of other traffic offences.
Traffic checks continue every day, with the aim of preventing fatal and serious traffic collisions as well as reinforcing good road awareness by all road users.
