The Cybercrime Directorate in a statement informs the public that it has received a large number of reports of malicious phone calls from various overseas phone numbers.
In the event that the citizen answers, a pre-recorded message is heard which aims to defraud them financially.
On the occasion of these incidents, the UN advises the public to be extra cautious and not answer such calls or make outgoing calls to unknown foreign phone numbers.
