A completely charred human body was found on the ground floor of the factory.
At 8:27 yesterday morning, information was received about a fire in a polystyrene manufacturing factory in the free industrial zone of Aradippou, which consists of two floors.
According to the Police, "on the first floor at the given moment were the owner of the factory, three workers at the factory and a citizen who was engaged in repairing electrical installations".
It is noted that "the people who were inside the factory came out except for the citizen who was involved in repairing electrical installations who was searched by members of the Fire Service without being found".
The Police Director of Larnaca, the head and members of the TAE Larnaca, the head of the Kiti police station and other members of the Larnaca Police Directorate visited the scene for examinations.
Members of the labor inspection department and the EAC went to the scene for examinations for cutting off the power supply.
It is reported that "the four people who came out of the factory were transferred to the TAEP of the Larnaca General Hospital as a precaution due to smoke inhalation".
It is noted that "at 14:30 yesterday afternoon, a fully charred human body was found on the ground floor of the factory".
It is reasonably believed "that the body belongs to the citizen who was inside the factory and was missing".
For security purposes "the body is expected to be received at a later stage and the proper tests will be carried out for its identification in collaboration with anthropologists and experts".
The fire was extinguished at 14:50 in the afternoon, but due to the risk of rekindling, a fire truck remained at the scene.
The scene has been cordoned off and is being guarded and further forensic tests are expected to be carried out today.
The amount of damage caused is unknown at this stage while there is insurance coverage.
