A significant increase was recorded in August 2024 in the value and volume of turnover in retail trade, compared to last August.
According to the Statistical Service, the Retail Trade Cycle Value Index increased in August 2024 by 6,9%, compared to the corresponding month of 2023.
During the same month, the Retail Trade Volume Index increased by 5,7%, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
Moreover, for the period January-August 2024, according to the Statistical Service, the Value Index is estimated to have increased by 5,3% and the Volume Index by 3,8% compared to the same period in 2023.
