The multi-page report of the Investigative Committee on TAKATA airbags will be sent to the Crime Suppression Department within the day.
In statements to CNA and when asked about it, Police Spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou said that the report was omitted yesterday by the Chief of Police and will be sent to the Crime Suppression Department within the day for a study to determine whether criminal offenses arise.
He noted that the investigative work has not begun.
"The report is multi-page. Therefore, it should first be studied by the investigators to see whether criminal offenses arise. At this stage, we cannot go into details regarding offenses or individuals," he concluded.
In a statement yesterday, the Legal Service had stated that the Report of the Three-Member Investigative Committee on the placing on the Cyprus Vehicle Market by the EU, the import of vehicles from third countries, as well as the recall of these vehicles, following a preliminary study, will be sent on Tuesday by the Attorney General of the Republic to the Chief of Police, with instructions for the investigation of all possible criminal offenses against any person.
According to the announcement, the Report of the Investigative Committee is also being sent to the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers for study and any actions by the competent Authorities in relation to disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from it.
