Eleven foreigners who resided illegally in Cyprus returned last night to their countries of origin, following direct actions of the Aliens and Immigration Service, as part of the Police's efforts to return third-country nationals who reside illegally in our country. The eleven foreigners were identified and arrested just yesterday morning, during an operation by YA&M, in Paphos.
The operation was carried out, between the hours of 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. yesterday, by members of YA&M and the Green Line Surveillance Sub-Directorate. During it, five men and six women were identified and arrested, who were found to be residing illegally in Cyprus.
Detention and deportation were issued against them and with immediate actions of the YA&M Returns Office, around 8 p.m. on the same day they left for their homeland, with a flight from Larnaca airport.
The Police continues to focus its efforts on maximizing the number of repatriations of third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus, in coordination with other competent Services.
