In revision of protection measures against COVID-19 and the amendment of the decree on the measures to intercept the coronavirus, the Council of Ministers proceeded on Tuesday.
In his statements after the session of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Health, Michalis Damianos, specifically mentioned that the obligation to demonstrate a negative test for the coronavirus has been abolished, while he added that the only measure that remains is the use of masks in hospitals and nursing homes.
As he noted, the new amended decree is valid from today.
Asked what the situation is in relation to the incidents from COVID-19, Mr. Damianos said that the cases "are very limited".
"It's a few hundred out of a large number of tests, around 80," he said.
He also noted that in the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) "the number of incidents is minimal, so it was decided that it was not necessary to continue the existing ones and therefore they are abolished to a large extent".
