Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reacted publicly for the first time to the issue of the headscarf in the occupied territories, stating that he will soon visit the pseudo-state and send "the necessary messages", as Turkish media write.
According to the Turkish newspaper "Türkiye", in a statement to the Central Committee of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Mr. Erdogan announced that he will visit the occupied territories in the coming period.
In relation to the reactions to the headscarf, he stated that "this is unacceptable. In the coming days we will visit the TRNC and send the necessary messages. When you don't set limits for them, they don't know their place."
In the past, the Turkish Cypriot press had mentioned the possibility of Erdogan's visit to the occupied territories, which is planned for early May, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new "presidential complex".
