The journalistic world was saddened by the news of the death of journalist Georgia Psaria, who had been battling cancer for the last few months.

In a statement, the RIK states that "with deep sadness we announce the death of our beloved journalist colleague of the Georgia Psaria News Department".

"On behalf of the Administration, the General Directorate, the Directorate of the News Department, but also all the staff who knew and loved Georgia for her bright character and her hard work, we express our heartbroken condolences to her relatives", it is added .

In his post on Platform X, Government Spokesman Constantinos Letympiotis states that "Georgia Psaria left early, she fought bravely in the last months. One of the first journalists I met as a Government Spokesperson, I will forever cherish her honesty, honesty and kindness. A tireless and tireless professional. Poorer than today @cybc_com_cy and journalism, great loss as a person. May her memory be eternal!".

For her part, the President of the Parliament Annita Dimitriou, in a post on her personal account, wrote that Georgia Psaria belonged to the "representatives of combative journalism who honored the industry with her morals and hard work. In the last few months he fought a brave battle with cancer, with dignity and pride. Shocked to hear of her death, we extend our sincere condolences to her family. Her memory is eternal."

In her short biography cited by the RIK, it is stated that Georgia Psaria was born on October 26, 1975 in Limassol, originally from Famagusta.

He studied at Agios Ioannis High School in Limassol and studied Journalism and Communication at Panteion University in Athens.

He worked at Politis newspaper since 1999 and at RIK since 2018.
