The Minister of Education and the Pan-Cypriot Organization of Greek Teachers (POED), of which the deceased was a former president, express their deep sadness for the death of the teacher, Reas Papageorgiou.
With her post on Social Media, the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Athina Michailidou states that Rhea Papageorgiou was "a fighter of life and gave lessons of endurance and faith".
He adds that she was "dedicated, professional, a person with ideals and principles, always willing to help".
The Minister of Education expresses her condolences to the family of the deceased and bids farewell to Rhea Papageorgiou, writing "My dear Rhea, you are an example for us".
With its announcement, POED "expresses its deep sadness for the death of our colleague, Rheas Papageorgiou" whom it describes as "a particularly remarkable personality who stood out for his hard work, dedication to duty and selfless help to teachers".
It states that the deceased "always had an active presence in POED, defending her positions and participating in all the trade union struggles of the organization".
He adds that "Rhea Papageorgiou was the first female President in the history of POED while she was even President of POED Nicosia serving the industry as a member of the Board of Directors and as General Representative".
POED also states that "her contribution to education and the trade union movement was significant and her memory will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew her and worked with her".
"Shocked, we all say goodbye to her with respect and honor and express our sincere condolences to her family. Her memory is eternal", concludes POED.
