Kokkinochoria: The problems in the agricultural network in the Internal Affairs Committee

The problems that arose in the rural network and in the infrastructure of the communities from the heavy rains of the recent period were discussed ex officio in the parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs with members of the Committee to call on the government to speed up the processes of supporting the rural world.

In statements after the session, DISY MP Nikos Nouris expressed the party's satisfaction for the immediate intervention of the state, which, he said, will provide concrete solutions to the serious problems that have arisen.

He said that the work of recording the damages continues with the intention to give the necessary compensations and that the Ministry of Interior ordered the assessment of the damages and then the infrastructure to be restored.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture will make an effort to compensate for the damage done to small lots by a decision of the Council of Ministers through the "de minimis" procedure.

DIKO MP Charalambos Pittokopitis criticized the state for being absent in terms of damage to crops, irrigation systems and infrastructure in the province of Paphos.

He cited the area of Ziripilli, where citrus fruits are ready to be cut and sold, but the area is inaccessible due to disasters.

"And unfortunately the state is absent. "We called on the state to take immediate decisions to give the necessary funds to the Paphos provincial administration," he added.

Finally, EDEK MP Elias Myrianthous said that a way must be found to give some money until the work of recording and assessing the damage is completed.

"If we wait for the damage to be recorded and then for the state to start the restoration process, it will take two to three years," he concluded.
