Fifteen years after the disappearance of little Brit Madeleine Makan in Portugal, her parents consider it "essential" to find out the "truth" about this case that recently led to the interrogation of a German suspect.
"Whatever the outcome, Madeleine will always be our daughter and a truly horrific crime has been committed," Kate and Jerry Mackan wrote on their Facebook page dedicated to the search for Madeleine on Monday. has been missing since 3 May 2007.

Madeline Makan, referred to by the British press as "Mandy", disappeared on May 3, 2007, shortly before her fourth birthday, in Praia da Luz, a resort in the Algarve, where she was vacationing with her family.
Her parents launched a huge international campaign to find her. Photos of little Mandy went around the world.
On April 22, the Portuguese prosecutor's office announced that a suspect was being interrogated in Germany, without specifying his identity or the nature of the suspicions against him, as part of the investigation into Mandy's disappearance "in collaboration with the British and German authorities".
