A 35-year-old former beauty queen in the Philippines, Aken Arandaza, met a horrific death after being kidnapped. She was found dead at sea with her head covered with a cloth, her hands and feet tied, and weights to sink her to the bottom.
The body of Arandaza, who had won a national beauty pageant in the Philippines, was found by fishermen in a state of decomposition on August 4, having been kidnapped on July 31 while shopping in the city of Ormoc.
The 34-year-old was kidnapped on July 31 but her family reported her missing on August 4.
According to local media, the body of the 34-year-old was found naked, gagged and blindfolded. Her legs and hands were tied and a bicycle lock was tied around her neck. Police sources described that her face was covered with black cloth and wrapped in duct tape while two bags were tied to her body to send her lifeless body to the bottom.
Although Arandaza had been abducted since July 3, her abduction was reported by her relatives on the same day her body was found, with authorities claiming that the 34-year-old could have been saved if the missing person report had been made earlier.

Security cameras have captured the moment the 34-year-old was abducted from a store while she was buying groceries. According to the footage, she was approached by a black Toyota Wigo from which three men got out and forced her into the vehicle.

Police are now trying to identify the suspects and investigate the motive for what appears to be a targeted and "premeditated attack."

The model's sister, Patricia, told police that on the morning of her kidnapping, Arandaza had spoken to a man named Pai-ap Drilon.
Local media finally recalled that Arandaza's 30-year-old brother, Eros, had been killed in a shootout with police during an anti-drug operation in 2024.
