An earthquake measuring 5,3 on the Richter scale was recorded by the seismological network of the Geological Survey Department at noon on Monday, centered on the southern coast of Turkey, and was felt in the eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus.
As the Geological Survey Department stated in its announcement, an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale was recorded at 12:21 on Monday by the Department's seismological network.
"The earthquake was centered on the southern coast of Turkey, in the Antalya Gulf area, 255km northwest of Polis Chrysochous and had a focal depth of 85 kilometers," it says, noting that it was felt in Turkey and perceived in the eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus.
