The Turk has no friend other than the Turk, said the leader of the far-right MHP party Devlet Bahceli, commenting on the incident in the mosque of the Diocese of Limassol where strangers spray-painted slogans and drew the Greek flag.

In his speech, Devlet Bahceli said that the Turk has no friend other than the Turk. "When the West says a Muslim, what he understands is a Turk. In Limassol they drew a cross and wrote 'death to the Turks'. Those who take advantage of our oath are those who do not have an identity and try to make material about Turkish pollution programs. We no longer have time to lose with wishes and sorrows. "The Turkish nation has the opportunity to conquer the world spirit again," said Devlet Bahceli.

The leader of the far-right party also said about the Lausanne treaty that it has become the bond of Anatolia. "Before Lausanne, the first stop was the Treaty of Sevres, before that the Dardanelles War. Those who appear before us today again are those who were expelled yesterday from the Dardanelles, those who were thrown into the sea of Smyrna. "We can never endure humiliation, we can not tolerate the plunder of our national survival," said Devlet Bahceli.

Regarding the Constantinople Convention, he said that the discussions have taken on a sad dimension, adding that "it is as if violence against women will go unpunished" and that "this irresponsible and insidious propaganda is systematically fueled". According to Devlet Bahceli, the reduction of scenes of violence against women on television is an urgent need and the Istanbul Convention did not live up to expectations, arguing that ending it is the right and appropriate decision.
