US President Joe Biden has given the intelligence services 90 days to report on the origin of the new coronavirus.
Biden called on the services to "redouble their efforts" to come up with an explanation for the origin of SARS-CoV-2. Although many experts have long rejected the theory that the coronavirus came from an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan, China, this case has resurfaced recently.
"The United States will continue to work with our partners around the world to press China to engage in a full, transparent, and evidence-based international inquiry," Biden said in a statement. his dissatisfaction with Beijing's stance.
The American president admitted that the intelligence services are divided over the origin of the new coronavirus,
that is, whether it came from human contact with an infected animal or from a laboratory accident.
"I asked the Information Services Community to redouble its efforts to gather and analyze information that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion and report to me in 90 days," he said in a statement.
