Another Danish airport had to close last night after a second drone alert in two nights, with Copenhagen saying it has been experiencing a "hybrid attack" of unknown origin since the beginning of the week.
The airspace above Aalborg Airport in northern Denmark had to be closed yesterday, Thursday, evening due to an alarm about unmanned aircraft, before reopening around 00:35 (local time, 01:00 today Greek time), Danish police announced.
The airport closure forced a flight from Amsterdam to turn back and resulted in the cancellation of a Scandinavian Airlines flight from Copenhagen, according to flight-tracking and airline websites.
At this stage, however, the authorities have not officially announced the presence of the drones.
Since Monday, the episodes on the country's airwaves have multiplied.
Yesterday, Thursday, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen denounced "hybrid attacks" and warned that drone overflights "may multiply."
Danish authorities have not yet identified the origin of these aircraft. But "there is primarily one country that represents a threat to the security of Europe, namely Russia," Frederiksen said.
After a conversation with the prime minister, French President Emmanuel Macron declared his readiness "to contribute to the security of Danish airspace."
