Denmark: Life sentence to the inventor for the murder of a journalist

A Danish court today sentenced Danish inventor Peter Madsen to life in prison for killing and maiming a Swedish journalist on his makeshift submarine in the port of Copenhagen in August 2017.

Police arrested Mansen on August 11 last year when he went ashore without 30-year-old Kim Val, with whom he had boarded his submarine a day earlier.

Kim Val was last seen on the submarine "Nautilus" with Madsen on August 10. The 46-year-old Dane was rescued by the country's Navy the next day, when his submarine sank under unclear circumstances in the port of Copenhagen.
