US election: Will women "punish" Donald Trump? Harris' "weapon" for the White House

Women have already participated en masse both in the postal vote and in the early vote of the previous weeks

In an election contest as close as the one that is developing these days and ends today in the USA, even the smallest details are important.

In light of this, the Trump and Harris campaigns are carefully selecting their target audiences, hoping to reap the maximum possible benefits.

A typical example of this, as it is heavily discussed these days and in the US media which is on a daily basis in pre-election rhythms, is the women's vote. Vice President Harris is banking heavily on women in order to beat Trump even in points and remain in the White House from an elevated position. Women, after all, are overrepresented in the electorate and Harris combines, beyond her positions, the prospect of being the first female president in the highest office of the USA.

However, it is not only the profile of Harris that "electrifies" women voters, but also the profile of Trump. A series of his reports that many characterize as misogynistic, his life in seclusion over time, but also his convictions by justice for issues related to women, prompt many of them to dislike him.

But the decision of the Supreme Court, whose composition has changed to a more conservative one under Trump, to overturn Roe vs. Wade and stricter state laws to prevent abortions have angered many women. In fact, in states where additional bans have recently been enacted, such as Iowa, pollsters see a shift away from female voters to Mr. Trump.

Women have already turned out in droves in both mail-in and early voting in recent weeks, and according to the Marist PBS survey, Harris has an 11-point lead over Trump among women, 55% to 44%. To be sure, Ms. Harris needs to improve her performance among male voters, where she clearly lags behind Mr. Trump, but she herself hopes that this will be achieved and, combined with her good performance in women, she will win even in the thread.

On the other hand, Trump, who sees a discussion that is unpleasant for him being recycled, enlists his own weapons. Nikki Haley, who ran against him at the beginning of the race, wrote an article in the Wall Street Journal, supporting his candidacy, while in his appearance yesterday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the former US president made a surprise appearance on the stage of the conservative commentator Megyn Kelly. The one-time Fox star who has previously clashed fiercely with Mr. Trump, claimed he would be a protector of women, inviting them to listen to him.
