He may have an incredible fortune, plans to send humanity to Mars and founded some of the most successful companies on the planet, but none of Elon Musk's numerous achievements seem to impress his father much!

In a strange interview he recently gave to Australia's The Kyle and Jackie O Show, 76-year-old Errol Musk was asked if he feels proud of what his son has achieved in his life.

The answer he gave was sure to surprise many. "No. You know, we are a family that has been doing many things for many years. We didn't just suddenly start doing things," noted Errol Musk, adding that even Elon himself is not happy with the progress of his career.

Although he admitted that his tycoon son has more significant achievements than his other children, he pointed out that Elon and his siblings had seen a lot growing up and participated in many interesting activities as a family. "They had seen a lot of things and we did a lot of things together," Errol said of his children, referring to the family's trips to China, the Amazon rainforest and other areas. "It's true, however, that Elon has raised the bar," noted the father of the Tesla founder.

As he explained, his 50-year-old son feels he has fallen behind in his career, in terms of the level he wanted his companies to have already reached. "He is frustrated with the rate of progress and that is understandable. I know it sounds crazy but we tend to think that way as a family. He is now 50 years old and I still think of him as a little boy. But he is 50, he is a big man."

He may have spoken quite coolly about his ambitious son who has made the whole planet talk about him, but Errol Musk's tone was completely different when he referred to another of his children, Kimbal Musk, his "pride" as he described him . Kimball is a restaurant owner and chef with a net worth of $700 million.
