The tariffs will take effect on October 14, according to the text of Trump's proclamation released by the White House.
On January 1, tariffs will increase to 30% on upholstered wood products and 50% on kitchen cabinets and bathroom furniture imported from countries that have not reached a relevant trade agreement with the United States, according to the same declaration.
