Seven dead in frontal collision of a bus with a truck in Nigeria

Seven people were killed and five were injured in a car accident that took place yesterday, Friday, in the state of Ogun in southwestern Nigeria.

According to a police official, a bus driver lost control of his vehicle, as a result of which he collided head-on with a truck.

He said six men and a woman were killed and five others were taken to hospital. He pointed out that the fatal accident could have been avoided if the bus driver had not developed too much speed on a slippery highway, as it was raining at the time.

He advised drivers not to exceed speed limits and not to drive recklessly, in order to avoid unnecessary loss of life and damage to property.
