Following the corruption and terrorism investigations against the Istanbul Municipality, permission was granted for an investigation against the Ankara Municipality in relation to 33 concerts.
"A series of cultural and artistic events organized between 2021-2024 have been under investigation by inspectors for some time. The investigation into service procurements, which were carried out by inspectors and covered 130 concerts, was completed. A decision was made to grant permission for investigation into 33 concerts for reasons of public harm," a statement from the prefecture said, according to the Turkish press.
In his statements, Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavas said that "instead of a normal political struggle, they are tripping up their opponents. Anything can happen in our country, everything is possible. Many reports have been submitted to the Ankara General Prosecutor's Office. They have also made attempts against me."
