The Iranian Fars news agency reported a short while ago that a US warship, which attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, was forced to change course after ignoring warnings from Iranian authorities.
According to the same sources, the incident occurred near Jask Island, where - as reported - two missiles hit the ship while it was at sea, forcing it to change course. The information comes from local sources cited by Fars, without there being any independent confirmation so far.
Iranian state television broadcast a Navy statement, according to which American warships were prevented from entering the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier today, Tehran, reacting to Donald Trump's announcements yesterday about the launch of Operation Freedom to free ships from the Strait of Hormuz, issued a warning to the US Navy not to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz.
The Unified Command of Iran's Armed Forces also warned all commercial ships and oil tankers to refrain from any movement without prior coordination with Iranian military forces stationed in the Strait.
The incident is part of the broader climate of tension in the Strait of Hormuz region, a particularly critical sea route for international navigation and oil transportation, where military incidents and exercises are occasionally recorded.
