At least 4 people have been killed, according to local media, while dozens are missing from the wreck of a car ferry off the coast of the Philippines earlier today.
About 100 passengers have been rescued so far, while rescue teams are working to locate dozens of others who are missing after the sinking of the ship on which, according to the coast guard, 251 people were on board.
"Suddenly the wind picked up and the ship had to stop the engines as the bow began to sink," student Donel Mediola, one of the passengers rescued, told DZMM radio. "Some of us swam, but I also saw elderly people who seemed to be already dead."
