France: The gendarme who had taken hostage died

The lieutenant colonel of the French Gendarmerie who was handed over to the armed terrorist to release hostages in exchange for the attacks that took place yesterday in the south-west of France in the name of the Islamic State organization, Interior Minister Gerard Colomb has announced that he is dead.

"Lt. Col. Arno Beltram has left us. He died for his homeland. "France will never forget his heroism," the French minister wrote on his Twitter account.

With the death of the 45-year-old Gendarmerie officer, who had proposed himself as a hostage to the position of people held by Redouane Lakdim, the perpetrator of yesterday's attacks, the report of the attack now amounts to four dead.
