According to the Turkish news website Arti Gercek, there are two possible reasons why Erdogan reads his statements from a screen.
- The heavy medication Erdogan is taking is affecting his thinking. Erdogan's state of health is kept secret. However, the practice in television shows gives the impression that the situation is getting worse.
If Erdogan finds it difficult to concentrate and express himself, serious problems could arise even in private meetings, such as between Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
2. When Erdogan speaks without a screen, he provokes reactions. For example, Erdogan recently threatened to cut the tongue of singer Cezen Aksu.
"The truth is unknown due to the intense smoke billowing in the palace, but it is clear that both possibilities put a country in danger of being ruled by a one-man authority," Arti Gercek said.
