For 9 whole years a woman carried a dead fetus, which eventually turned into a ball, which blocked her intestines, leading to her death.

As reported by thesun.co.uk, this is a 50-year-old refugee from the Congo, who recently settled in the USA. The woman was admitted to the hospital with stomach cramps, indigestion and upset stomach.

She underwent an ultrasound which revealed a dead 28-week-old foetus, which had turned into a stone mass, wedged in her lower abdomen and pressing on her bowel. However, she refused to undergo surgery because, as she said, "her heart wasn't telling her to."

The woman attributed her condition to witchcraft and revealed to the doctors that when she realized she had lost the baby, the doctors in the Tanzanian refugee camp where she was staying accused her of killing her baby.

After nearly 14 months the 50-year-old died of malnutrition as the fetus blocked her intestines and could not absorb nutrients from food.

It is worth noting that according to the British newspaper, the woman suffered from lithiasis, with a study published in 1996 in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine stating that only 290 cases have been recorded.
