Rio de Janeiro police announced today that they accidentally killed a Spanish tourist who was visiting a favela where a few hours earlier two police officers had been injured during clashes with drug dealers.
The vehicle in which the tourists were riding "broke the police roadblock" in the Rossina favela and the police, who did not know that the passengers were tourists, opened fire on him, law enforcement forces explained in a press release.
