Greece publishes the Russian Mr. Bitcoin in the USA

Greek court gives green light to extradition of Russian businessman Alexander Vinnik to the United States, who is accused of fraud with the digital currency Bitcoin. Russia's Foreign Ministry has expressed hope that the decision will be overturned by a supreme court as it considers that international law is being violated. 

The Russian Foreign Minister also expressed his disappointment with the decision of the Greek Court to approve the request of the American authorities. 

The US claims that the Russian Mr. Bitcoin reportedly managed to make $ 4 billion in digital currency through various platforms and money laundering. 

"We consider the decision to be unfair and in violation of basic international law," he said. 

The ministry said the Russian prosecutor had also requested the extradition of Vinnik, who was arrested during his vacation in July before being requested by the United States. 

"According to the general legal norms, the Russian request has preceded (another country's) as Vinnik is a Russian citizen" 

Mr. Bitcoin is fighting its extradition to the US, and maintains its innocence for the crimes to which it is linked by the Americans. 

On the other hand, the businessman does not disagree with the version in Russia, where he is suspected of stealing $ 10,500 from "an unknown entity using deception and the Internet".

"We believe that the court decision is not final" and may change, the Russian Foreign Minister notes. Moscow hopes for the cooperation of the Greek authorities and that the request of the Russian Prosecutor will be taken into account.
