The mother of a German Jew who was feared killed in the Hamas terror attacks has told the German press that her daughter, Shani, may still be alive.
Speaking to German tabloid Bild, Ricarda Luke said: “We now have proof that Sunny is alive but has a serious head injury and is in a critical condition. Every minute is critical.
She appealed to German federal authorities to launch an operation in Hamas-controlled Gaza to rescue her daughter.
"You must act quickly and get Sani out of the Gaza Strip!" he said in a message to German officials.
"We shouldn't be arguing over jurisdictional issues now!"
However, so far the mother's claims cannot be cross-referenced.
Video of Shani was posted on social media at the start of the Hamas attack, and appears to show her lifeless in the back of a Hamas truck while terrorists desecrate her body.
Earlier in the week, Ricarda appealed for information about her daughter, saying: “We were sent a video in which I could clearly see our daughter unconscious in the car with the Palestinians driving around the Gaza Strip.
“I ask you to send us any help or any news. Thank you very much,” he said
She was identified by her cousin Tomasina Weintraub Louk, Shani's cousin, who said the family "still has some kind of hope" that she had survived.
Shani, 30, was attending the Supernovva music festival in southern Israel, which was attacked by Hamas in the early hours of Saturday morning, and where Israeli forces discovered more than 250 bodies after the attack.
