Megan Markle is one of the 25 most influential women in Britain, according to the list compiled by the British Vogue magazine, which welcomes the former actress who helps to forge a new identity of the monarchy.
Prince Harry's wife and Duchess of Sussex are joined by Scottish politician Ruth Davidson, fashion designer Stella McCartney and Harry Potter book author J.J. Rowling on the list of "The Vogue 25" magazine.
The list highlights an "exceptional set of leading figures who define and redefine where we live today", influential women active in fields such as the arts, entertainment, science, politics, media, and law.
Markle, whose glamorous wedding was attended by millions of people around the world on May 19, is described as "one of the most recognizable women in the world."
"Her influence goes far beyond the relentless coverage (by the media) of her style. "As a mix fighting for women's rights in America, Markle is helping to forge a new identity for the 21st century monarchy," Vogue magazine wrote in its online edition.
The fashion magazine also awards Scottish leader Tory Ruth Davidson as "an interesting figure with progressive ideas" and Stella McCartney, "who runs one of the most progressive and independent fashion houses".
Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, singer Dua Lipa, models Adwoa Aboah and Eddie Campbell and Manchester United business director Colette Ross are among the 25 most influential women in Britain, ranging in age from 22 73 years old.
