Burmese women have barred entry to the UN's special rapporteur on Myanmar for the duration of her term, Yanghi Li herself said.
Lee was scheduled to visit Myanmar in January to look into the human rights situation, including allegations of persecution of the Rohingya Muslim minority in Rakhine State, but her German authorities have now told her they will not cooperate.
"This announcement of non-cooperation can only be seen as a strong indication that something terrible is going to happen in Rakhine State as in the rest of the country," she said.
"It is a pity that Myanmar has decided to make this decision," he added.
"The government has repeatedly denied that human rights abuses have taken place in Myanmar, and especially in Rakhine State. He has pointed out that he has nothing to hide, but the lack of cooperation with me and the sending of data collection suggests the opposite ", Lee emphasizes.
Lee is due to visit Myanmar twice a year and has visited the country six times since June 2014, although her government has repeatedly denied access to some areas, citing security concerns.
