The moment a lightning struck the nose of a passenger plane, while it was preparing to land at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, he recorded a camera in the cockpit.
According to the Daily Mail, the Boeing 737 MAX, carrying 140 passengers, was flying at an altitude of about 30.000 feet when it was struck by lightning on March 15. The video published by the British newspaper shows the moment of the electric shock, which surprised the pilots while they were preparing for landing, in the middle of a rather strong storm.

According to the publication, despite the difficult weather conditions, the experienced pilots kept their composure and carried out the landing safely, without endangering the passengers or the crew. The fuselage of the aircraft was not damaged.
The person who recorded the video, and asked not to be named, explained to the newspaper that "it is quite common for aircraft to be struck by lightning, but to record the moment on video is something special".
As the Daily Mail explains, when lightning strikes an aircraft while in the air, it usually hits sharp points, such as the antennae, wings, nose or tail, passes through the wiring and moves away from the plane.
Lightning often strikes aircraft during severe storms but rarely results in an accident. This is because the planes have a special protective coating that prevents any damage from lightning.
