A strong earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale shook eastern Japan, including Tokyo.
According to the announcement of the Meteorological Service of the country, an earthquake of 6 magnitude was recorded, however there is no possibility of a tsunami.
In central Tokyo, the quake was slightly felt as some buildings were reported to have been shaken.
Narita Airport temporarily closed two runways for inspections, but takeoffs and landings were allowed to resume approximately 10 minutes later.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
The epicenter was reported 50 kilometers south of the Pacific Ocean floor in Chiba Prefecture.
