The video in question shows a man approaching his wife, who is on the ship's deck. Without any sign of aggression and unperturbed, he takes out her bag and holds it up in his hands in front of the eyes of other passengers. She appears to fight back by hitting her knees as he approaches the railings and throws her off the ship.

The woman reportedly managed to hold on to the ship's railings and not to fall into the water. At that moment, other passengers who were eyewitnesses, rushed to help the woman and put her back on the ship.
Ridho Rafika, head of the Bakauheni port department said the incident occurred on a ship plying the Merak – Bakauheni route. According to him, the woman's family did not report the incident as the man suffers from a psychiatric disorder.
He comes to claim that he heard "voices" telling him to throw his wife overboard. However unknown remains if the man he was finally arrested.
