26-year-old Ionas Karousis, a resident of Jerusalem, is the Greek who died in the terrorist attack that occurred last Tuesday (1/10) in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, at the time of Iran's missile attack on Israel.

As iefimerida.gr has written since yesterday, the 26-year-old was an architecture student, the son of the well-known neurosurgeon Dimitris Karousis, director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center of the Neurology Department of the Hadassah University Hospital, and Dr. Urania Vourkas.

Who is the 26-year-old who met a tragic end in Tel Aviv?

Ionas Karousis was born on September 11, 1998. He went to elementary school at Hashalom Elementary School in Tel Aviv and went on to school in Jerusalem majoring in English, Biology, and Arts. In 2020 he started his studies at the Faculty of Architecture of Tel Aviv University.

At the same time, he studied piano for 12 years at the Music Academy of Jerusalem, he loved basketball and sports, while from a young age he was involved in drawing and the arts. According to his bio, the 26-year-old was most recently working with his father on a project dealing with the modern recording of multiple sclerosis patients.

He spoke and wrote English, Hebrew and Greek.

"My only son was sacrificed in the madness of war"

Dimitris Karousis, father of the unfortunate 26-year-old, sobbingly described yesterday on the main news bulletin of ANT1: "He was the best thing that exists in a person in the world. His heart his mind. I lost everything. Such a heart never existed. He had not met anyone, I have not met such a person."

"My only son was sacrificed here in the madness of war. There is no such man as this man does not exist. I don't say it as a father, those who have known him can. There was no such heart," he adds.

As it became known, the 26-year-old man was shot by two lone wolves on Tuesday night in south Tel Aviv, Jaffa Beach, while he was on his way to an architecture job.

"They came at 12 o'clock at night and informed us that he was attacked on the tram in Jaffa by some terrorists and they shot him with 4 bullets. He had gone to do an assignment for Architecture", says Dimitris Karousis at another point.

The last post of Iona Karousis

The 26-year-old had a special love for Greece and visited it often, even though his base was in Israel. In fact, on his Instagram account there are several photos from the country, which he usually visited in the summers with his family, since their place of origin is Thessaloniki, as stated on social media.

The last posting of the deceased 26-year-old was on the 20th of last September from Nea Potidea in Halkidiki. The place where he vacationed with his friends before returning to university.
