US: Two police officers file charges against former President Donald Trump

Two Capitol police officers have filed a lawsuit against former US President Donald Trump, accusing him of inciting the violent incidents that broke out on January 6 and resulted in the short-term occupation of the area, according to APE.

One policeman was killed and dozens more were injured in what became known as the Cold War.

The two men who went to court, James Blasingham and Sydney Heby, said they suffered "physical and psychological trauma" during the episodes, which they allegedly instigated by Trump.

"The insurgents have been encouraged by Trump's behavior in recent months, which has led his supporters to believe his false allegations that he was ousted from the White House after a massive election fraud," they said in a statement. federal court in washington.

Blasingham, an African-American police officer who has worked at the Capitol for 17 years, suffered head and back injuries and is experiencing psychological problems after the incident. He was also racistly attacked by supporters of the former president.

Heby, who has been in the service for 11 years, was injured in the arms and knees after being thrown at the gates of the Capitol, while during the attack chemicals were thrown at his face and body.

The two officers are seeking compensation of at least $ 75.000 each as well as additional damages of unspecified amount.
