USA: F-16 crashed near Las Vegas

An U.S. Air Force F-16 crashed Wednesday near Las Vegas, Nevada, in the western United States, the third U.S. military plane crash in two days. "An F-16 of Nellis Air Base crashed around 10:30 (20:30 Greek time) during a routine exercise at a Nevada test center," the U.S. Air Force said in a statement. The pilot's health condition "is not known", according to the announcement.

On Tuesday at 14:35 (00:35 Greek time) a Marine Super Stallion helicopter crashed in California, also during a regular exercise, near the small town of El Center, not far from the border with Mexico. according to an announcement by the Marine Corps.

Four members of the helicopter crew were killed in the crash. An investigation is underway.

The same day, a US Navy Harrier AV-8B pursuer crashed at 16:00, shortly after taking off from an airport at a US air base in Djibouti, Africa. The pilot was injured during the use of the ejection seat and was taken to the hospital of his base, the US Navy clarified in a statement. No other injuries were reported.
