USA - Pfizer will require its employees to be vaccinated

The US pharmaceutical company Pfizer has announced that it will require its staff and contractors in the US to be vaccinated or tested weekly for coronavirus.

Pfizer spokeswoman Pamela Eisel said the company made the move to "protect the health and safety of colleagues and the communities we serve."

Those workers who are vaccinated for religious or medical reasons may request an exemption.

Outside the United States, Pfizer will urge its employees who can be vaccinated in their home countries to do so immediately.

It is worth noting that at the end of 2020 the US pharmaceutical industry employed about 29.400 employees in the US.

Due to the Delta mutation and the rapid rise in cases, many companies such as Alphabet and Walt Disney - eventually Pfizer - have begun demanding that their employees be vaccinated.
