The car that crashed into a crowd attending or watching a Christmas parade in Wokesson, North Wisconsin, killed 11 adults and 12 children in hospitals, city police chief Dan Tan said.

A woman told local television station Fox6 that the SUV hit schoolgirls aged 9 to 15, members of a dance group that took part in the parade.

A second eyewitness said he heard the car crash as it fell on people and then screams and screams from the victims.

According to a third eyewitness estimate, the SUV had developed a speed of between 60 and 70 kilometers at the time it hit people.

In a video posted on social networking sites, the SUV is depicted moving fast towards the ears of people parading.
