A very powerful explosion that occurred at a gas station (gasoline and LPG) rocked eastern Rome on Friday morning.
According to reports in the Italian media, the explosion was followed by a large fire, while strong fire brigade forces, police forces and civil protection volunteers rushed to the scene.

The same sources say at least 10 people have been injured (including 8 police officers and a firefighter), while the nearby metro stop, Teano, has been closed. Nearby buildings have also suffered damage.
Residents immediately fled their homes, while eyewitnesses reported a strong smell of gas before the first explosion. This was followed by a second – louder – explosion.
"I woke up suddenly, I heard a very loud explosion, it sounded like a bomb," said a witness who lives in the Prenestino area. "All the windows were shaking, I thought it was an earthquake," said another witness who lives in Centocelle.
